International Education Week

Two of the six LHS students, and social studies teacher James Gordon, who completed a summer service-learning trip to Kenya. Their experiences were featured during International Education Week in a house-made film and Q&A session.  

Littleton IB students traveled to Costa Rica to see students who had visited LHS on a cultural exchange the previous year. During International Education Week, they gave presentations about their experiences traveling, staying with host families, learning about the culture and history, and working on their Spanish fluency.

National Leadership Academy: The NLA's mission is 'to engage high school students in leadership training, service learning, and civic engagement.' This summer's NLA will be June 13-16 in Denver, and includes opportunities for community service throughout the next school year. Students from across the nation participate in the academy, and nationally known speakers will give presentations about leadership and service. Cost is $700 per student which includes residence hall accommodations at Colorado Christian University, all meals, program materials and activities. Kenya Service and Study Safari: Travel with IB social studies teacher and former Kenya resident James Gordon on a three-week summer study and service trip to the Mt. Kenya area. Students assist with school facilities construction and improvement in the Mt. Kenya Area Rural Schools, do volunteer teaching to young students, take classes in Kenya's history and language, and travel on safari as well as to Mt.
