Free Computers for Students in Need
Littleton High School has partnered with “Tech for All”, a non-profit organization in Denver, to help ensure all of our students have access to a computer in their home. Since we began this partnership in September 2011, 85+ students have received a free computer. These are recycled, refurbished desktop computers with big monitors – not laptops and not flat screens, but they work and they are cable ready for internet access. They run Microsoft WinXP operating system and Open Office allowing students to work at home on computers that are compatible with school computers.
If you do not have a computer at home for your child to work on, please send your student to the Counseling Office at Littleton High School and ask for Mr. Hahn. Here’s how this wonderful system works:
- A student in need receives a coupon from us.
- The coupon allows the student to go to the warehouse where the non-profit is located to pick the computer up.
- All pick-ups are scheduled for Saturday mornings.
- At the warehouse, Tech for All volunteers will make sure students are ready to go.
Comcast offers reduced internet service for students based on need; information about that program is given to the student when they come to the office.
Please let us know if your student needs a computer
