Littleton High School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
WHO we are:
All parents in the Littleton High School community are members of PTO. There are no mandatory dues to be a member of PTO- all parents with students at Littleton High School can be involved with the PTO. Voluntary dues help PTO to support the greater LHS community.
WHAT we do:
PTO offers the opportunity to learn more about the events happening on and around the LHS campus. In addition, more than a dozen committees help plan, organize, and execute many annual events, including:
STUDENT SOCIALS (Freshman Picnic, After Prom, and Senior Breakfast)
FAMILY EVENTS (Dessert Bar/Bake Sale at Lions Follies in November)
TEACHER APPRECIATION (staff luncheons and monthly thank-yous and monthly acknowledgement of appreciation for teachers and staff)
INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS (PTO monthly meetings)
REFRESHMENTS (for events like Back to School Night, Academic Award Night, 8th Grade night, and Senior Convocation)
STUDENT DIRECTORY (a phone book for students and families)
SCHOOL MAILINGS (details about conferences, Back to School Night, events....)
VIPS: Volunteers In Public Schools
PTO is a thriving and hard-working parent group. We have a full roster of volunteers for all of our Committees. The LHS PTO has many involved parents, and they have contributed more than 28,000 hours to Littleton High School for the past 3 years.
WHEN and WHERE we meet:
The LHS PTO meets the second Wednesday of every month from 10 am to noon in the Main Office Conference Room. (Some meetings occur on district Late Start Wednesdays, but the meeting time is the same.) Refreshments are available beginning at 9:50 am.
Meeting dates for 2012-2013 are:
September 12
October 10
November 14
December 12
January 9
February 13
March 13
April 10
May 8
Principal Amy Oaks and a faculty member address school matters at every meeting. Committee chairs report on activities within the LHS parent community, as do liaisons to other LHS parent groups such as ENCORE! (Performing Arts support group), International Baccalaureate Parent Organization (IBPO), Boosters (sports) and School Accountability Committee (SAC). Occasionally, guest speakers from the school and the community give presentations to the PTO. Please join us to get involved and become better informed! We have great volunteers at the school and this is a nice way to meet some new faces.
